Brands and sizes

Golden Designs models here (Hanko, Narvik, Arlberg, Forssa, Drammen, Savonlinna, Vorarlberg, Kuusamo, Bergen, Kaarina and the Engelberg Edition) range from 2 to 6 person, roughly $6,700 to $17,900. Enlighten SunRise and Moonlight dry traditional saunas come in 2, 3, 4 and 5 person sizes plus space-saving 4C corner versions, in peak and slope roof styles, about $9,200 to $11,400. Aleko offers 4, 5 and 8 person cedar or hemlock wet/dry models with 4.5 to 9 kW heaters, about $6,300 to $9,300. See the Enlighten and Aleko brand pages for their other lines.

Planning an outdoor install

Every outdoor sauna needs a level, solid base, clearance around the cabin and a power supply run to the site. Heater sizes go up to 9 kW on the largest Aleko model, so have an electrician confirm the circuit. Check local permit rules before you buy, and use the sauna size guide to pick a capacity.
