Aleko Traditional and Barrel Saunas

Every Aleko sauna in this collection is a traditional (heated-stone) sauna, sold either as a wet/dry cabin or as a barrel. There are 12 models for 4, 5, 6 or 8 people, with heaters rated from 4.5 kW to 9 kW, at prices from about $4,600 to $9,300. If you are still deciding between sauna types, start with our guide to sauna heating options, or browse all traditional saunas.

Wet/Dry Traditional Cabins

The wet/dry cabins are named for the way they are used: you can keep the stones dry or pour water over them for steam. Indoor models, such as the Aleko 4 Person 4.5 kW and 6 Person 6 kW Hemlock, suit a basement, garage or spare room. Outdoor models, such as the 5 Person 6 kW Hemlock and the 8 Person 9 kW Cedar, are built for a yard. See the full indoor traditional and outdoor traditional ranges to compare other brands.

Barrel Saunas

The barrel models come in 4, 5, 6 and 8 person sizes, in rustic cedar shingle, red cedar and white or Finland pine. Several are listed for both outdoor and indoor use. For more options, see all barrel saunas.

Choosing a Size and Heater

Match the person count to how many people will really use it at once, then check the heater: the models here use 4.5 kW, 6 kW or 9 kW heaters, and higher ratings generally need a bigger circuit, so confirm the electrical requirements on the product page before you order. Our sauna size guide explains footprint and headroom, and the wood guide compares hemlock, cedar and pine.

Outdoor Placement

Outdoor saunas need a level, solid base and a spot clear of overhanging branches. Read our installation guide before you plan the site, and see all outdoor saunas for the wider range.
