Harvia Electric Heaters and Wood-Burning Stoves

Harvia is a Finnish sauna heater manufacturer. This collection has two product lines: electric sauna heaters (Cilindro, Virta, TopClass, SW and KIP series, 3-10.5 kW, floor or wall-mount) and wood-burning stoves (M3, Pro, Legend and WK series, 15.7-40 kW, for traditional and outdoor saunas).

Choosing a kW Rating

Heater output needs to match your sauna's interior volume — check each product's kW rating against your cabin's cubic footage before buying. Larger or higher-ceiling saunas need a higher kW heater to reach temperature in a reasonable time.

Electric vs. Wood-Burning

Electric heaters (Cilindro, Virta, TopClass, SW, KIP, AF series) plug into a dedicated circuit and use digital or built-in controls. Wood-burning stoves (M3, Pro, Legend, WK series) heat with an open flame and need a chimney and non-combustible clearance — several models, including the M3 SL and Pro 20 SL, are exterior-feed so wood can be loaded from outside the sauna room.

Installation

Both heater types typically require a licensed electrician or installer familiar with local sauna and building codes. See our installation guide for electrical and clearance planning, and our types of saunas guide for how heater choice affects your overall sauna experience.
